How to have the Best Birthday at Silverwood

In my opinion, birthdays should always involve a little self-splurging. (Maybe that’s just me because I just celebrated mine and used it as an excuse all day long!) For my birthday this year, I was on a mission to have maximum family time and fun. And what better way to achieve that than at Silverwood!? Here are four ways to have the best birthday ever at Silverwood:

  1. Coffee
    • First things first: the best birthdays always start with coffee! We arrived at the park about 45 minutes before opening to park our car, get through the gates, and grab a refreshing iced pick-me-up. There are two spots to get coffee: Silverwood Coffee Roasting and Trading Co. (by the front gate) or Victorian Coffee House (near the train on Main Street, on the way to Boulder Beach). I love that both offer a variety of drinks for kids and adults, plus non-dairy options (they carry soy and almond milk!).
  2. Cabana
    • Our next stop was Boulder Beach! Since it was my birthday, we splurged on a cabana, and I cannot overstate how amazing it was to have a shaded “home base.” Each cabana comes with a locker, a mini-fridge, a table and chairs, two lounge chairs, tube rental tickets (so you don’t have to wait for someone to give theirs up at the Lazy River!), and two complimentary towels to take home as souvenirs. Just think of them as a birthday present from Silverwood! We chose a cabana in Emerald Forest, which was the perfect spot since we have little ones. They could play on the slides while the adults sat and chatted on the lounge chairs for a bit, and we could keep an eye on them the whole time!

Pro Tip: When you’re celebrating here, make sure to bring a happy birthday banner/sign and some balloons! It’s a simple way to spruce up the cabana and really ring in the special day.

  1. Convenience
    • I always prioritize convenience, especially on my birthday! Silverwood made this easy with food delivery and VIP lines. When you rent a cabana, you get both! At lunchtime, we scanned the QR code posted in our cabana, which led to an easy-to-use website to order food from Rapids Grill. When my family started getting hungry, I hopped on there to order chicken strips, a burger, and a pulled pork sandwich. Then we left the cabana to do a loop around the wave pool. When we returned about 15 minutes later, the food was waiting for us in the cabana! Shortly after lunch, my girls spotted someone walking by with slushie flights. They looked delicious (and it’s my birthday…) so it was an immediate yes from mom. It was hot and the line was long, but since we had a cabana, we had VIP access to a dedicated short line. I was able to quickly snag a few flights for our group. Each flight comes with four slushies, and you get to choose from eight different varieties. The peach mango and piña colada were my favorites!

Note: Boulder Beach offers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic slushie flights! They come out of the machine non-alcoholic, but you can have them add tequila, rum, or vodka if you choose.

Cold Treats

  • We headed over to Silverwood for the second part of our day to squeeze in as many rides as possible. But no birthday is complete without a little ice cream, so that was our last stop! If you’ve been to the Ice Creamery, you know Silverwood’s famous four scoop is where it’s at! This has to be the best deal in the whole park: the ice cream is phenomenal and the scoops are massive. We opted for huckleberry (when in Rome…) and cookie dough, and I highly recommend both!

Silverwood is a great way to make memories with the family any day in the summer, but it hits especially hard when it’s a birthday celebration. Family time, lots of fun, and fantastic food made for the best day that I could have wished for. It’s a birthday I won’t soon forget!
