The morning fresh air was that perfect warm temperature with a slight breeze. It was going to be a fantastic day for our family reunion at Silverwood Theme Park. All the decorations were packed in the car and all the treats, gifts, games sat right next to me in the passenger seat.
In just a few minutes I would be meeting Skyla, who is the sales manager at Silverwood. Sweet Skyla is the one that helped me plan our family reunion.
As I entered the parking lot, it was kind of unreal – as most guests do not arrive an hour early before the park opens and honestly it was fun to get a parking spot right next to the security entrance.
Skyla was waiting for me right under the GROUP SALES sign by the Will Call area. She was incredibly kind and we chatted the whole time as we walked over to the new pavilion we will be using for the day.
Creating and planning a group event at Silverwood is incredibly easy and starts with a peek at the Group Info on Silverwood Theme Park website
Over in the newest expansion in Boulder Beach, you will find Emerald Forest with a bunch of new cabanas, villas, and pavilions. And each of these are so beautiful and comfortable for a day with a friend, small party, or go BIG with a pavilion that holds up 200 people – it even has the most comfortable seating, tables, chairs, fire pits and picnic tables.
Silverwood loves supporting groups and events that spend the day there and they are always available for any questions you have with booking.
As Skyla walked us into our pavilion, they had placed a large Private Party easel that helped our guests know where we were at. I loved the pavilion we were at – it was quiet, nicely shaded and we got a nice breeze that kept us cool. Most of the family spent their time at Boulder Beach so it was a wonderful fit for us.
Skyla was able to have me come in an hour before the gates open so that I could set up our snack and gift table and do a little decorations.
Four weeks before our family vacation, I created an invitation on Canva that would give a nice Silverwood Theme Park vibe. When you make the call to create your event for the pavilion, you will submit how many tickets you need and if you want to add on any food for your guests. It is really important to have your guests RSVP back to you ASAP so you have plenty of time to plan and prepare and create either an email or text with all the information you need to pass on to the guests. Things to include in your info for your guests that are coming would be a time to meet, where their tickets will be, if food is available, some food options if it is not included, the hours of the park, what to bring and what NOT to bring. Also information on lockers, First Aid, and where your pavilion is at. For us, the easiest thing to share the location was to create a ping on Google Maps.
For our day, I waited for our guests at the Group Sales window and passed out their tickets. Those who were coming later in the day, I put their tickets at Will Call with their name listed.
Ok, now let’s talk fun!!
I hung a banner was on the couch that was in the back of the room – which was perfect. I used one round table and placed all the treats. I wanted something fun to give each guest we had, so I had a bunch of fun summertime glasses they could have and play with.
Unfortunately, most of the family members that were planning on coming, either got sick or due to their work schedule, they could not make it. But it is ok, we pivot and asked a few of our friends who are like family to us – and we had a blast. But no family reunion is successful without those fun quotes on sticks.
I designed a scavenger hunt game that either the families could do together or we could create groups and see which team would complete the mission first. As soon as the teens heard “prize”, they took off for the mission.
As the teens made their flash exit, a few of us adults decided to go ride Eagle Hunt. I have been wanting to ride this for so long and I was giddy with excitement. We were asked to step on the scale before we started the climb to the top and a ride attendant explained the process. TRUST ME – you WILL get DRENCHED. That ride is AMAZING and so worth the wait. It is a quick moving line so don’t be discouraged if it looks too long- it does move fast!
Next it was time to head right to the Lazy River so we could warm up, relax and enjoy some girl time as we talked about our kids, life and our favorite topic of tv shows we are into. After we had our fun floating and catching up on life, we decided to treat ourselves to a “special” slushie.
After some yummies in our tummies, we all walked over to the dry park to get our crazy on and ride some rides. Our first stop was Stunt Pilot. The line was short enoughthat you could get on right away and run back through the entrance over and over again.
Then we walked over to the Spin Cycle – this ride gives me a panic attack like only a mother can! After 5 kids, my bladder is not strong enough to spin and go upside down. I left that one to the kids and men.
Our next stop was a ride that I haven’t been on for YEARS. The Antique Cars It is so hidden that I had forgotten it was there. But since we had the grandparents and a family that had a toddler – this was going to be a fun old school time. I really enjoyed watching the teens share a car and listening to their English accent they created as they drove off. It was actually hard to not do it yourself after listening to them. So when 3 of us loaded into our own car, my friend and I suddenly felt like we should be holding a cup of tea with our pinkies out.
After that, I was ready for a ride that is my absolute favorite and makes me laugh every time – The Tilt-A-Whirl. It was me with my son and his girlfriend and another one of my boys. We were in there pretty tight so we were hoping for a few good spins. We did get a few and a few that make your tummy float a little. Even sharing this memory makes me smile all over again. I just love this ride.
Before we were ready to close out our day at the park, we all walked over to the classic Log Flume. I had my big girl camera so I stood on the side by the exit to capture those picture perfect moments of family coming down the hill. What the family didn’t know was that a few of the boys had a pocket full of quarters and were fully loaded to hit the red flag target as the log floated by.
I could seriously stand there ALL day and just take photos of visitors at that moment. There are such great picture perfect spots in the park to see ride reactions and this is the best one!
After a long and very fun day, we headed back to the pavilion, cleaned up all our stuff and enjoyed the last few moments before Boulder Beach closed as us adults sat around in that golden glow of the sun having our last visits and talking before we all headed back home.

Hello! My name is Jackie. I am married to a handsome handyman, and I’m the proud momma of 5 kids. About 13 years ago, I started my photography business, Jax Creations Photography. A couple of years ago, I started a family website called Wanderful Memories. I use this site to share ways other families can document moments in life through travel and lifestyle. A fun fact about me is that I love to cook/bake for others, and I throw a great dance party in the kitchen (when no one is around to watch my awesome dance moves, of course)! There are many parts of Silverwood that I enjoy, but if I had to narrow it down, it would be riding the Tilt-a-Whirl with my boys. I love to hear them belly laugh! My family enjoys visit Silverwood multiple times during the summer with season passes — it is the perfect way to split up the summer days by visiting the water park or getting their adrenaline going on a roller coaster.
