After spending hours during the summer at Silverwood Theme Park, one can’t help feeling the anticipation of new things coming to the park, either for Scarywood, for Silverwood Park, or for Boulder Beach. Even though there may not be BIG changes that happen every year, there are still things that get announced. Last year, before all of us Silverwood Conductors { read more here on becoming a SWC } said goodbye, we were invited to the unveiling of something MASSIVE and were told it was coming in the summer of 2024. And WOW- was this massive!!
On this special day, we were invited out alongside the media to get a sneak peek into the new expansion over at Boulder Beach to see the plans of Emerald Forest and Eagle Hunt. It was so hard to sit still during the presentation and not skip around in excitement as I listened to the details. New rides, events, and entertainment are always exciting to me, but when the details are shared you can be a part of seeing all the work that has been started and then standing in front of the LARGE eagle that is part of the ride – my toes just want to jump up and dance!
BUT THE TIME HAS FINALLY COME!!!!
A few of the things in the past that have been talked about between guests have been the long lines to get food and drinks. Part of the new expansion excludes a new food pavilion Rapids Grill, that feeds 1200 guests per hour! A few other new perks that have been added are Northern Flights where you can quench your thirst with beverages – simple things like water and soda or enjoy a little something stronger for those days you are enjoying with your spouse or 21+ friends. You can find the new Salmon River Run for the little ones right in this area. Lots of seating and cabanas are available to give you an open view of Salmon River Run. These Cabanas give your family a place to stage all your belongings and a shaded place to relax. Another new perk for this year is NEW Villas and Pavilions! These pavilions are perfect for groups and parties such as a family reunion – hint, hint!
Ok Now let’s talk about all we have been waiting for EAGLE HUNT.
Eagle Hunt is the first dueling water coaster in the West and the LONGEST dueling water coaster in the United States. While you stand in line, you can read various facts and interactive elements focused on Eagles and their habitat- making the waiting fun to talk about before you reach the top. Standing at 925 feet in length, riders will race against the clock as they slide through 3 high-speed flying Saucers, get blasted up 4 hills, and dive through the first ProSlide Shadow Effect before you splash at the bottom.
This water coaster has two lanes, and not only will you be able to race against your friends, but you also get to set up a truly unique time trial experience where you can pick your prey and race down the slide like an eagle in pursuit of its prey. If you reach the bottom in the specified time, you will have “caught” your prey. If you don’t make it in time, the prey will have gotten away.
We as a family, now a house full of teens, are excited to ride a water coaster here in the Pacific Northwest finally. This is a great addition to Silverwood & Boulder Beach as we can add this perk of loving our summer vacations right here in the Coeur d’Alene area.
For a FUN look at this slide in ACTION, check out the new video of Stephanie filming her first time enjoying the ride on The Silverwood Show.
Meet The Conductor
Hello! My name is Jackie. I am married to a handsome handyman, and I’m the proud momma of 5 kids. About 13 years ago, I started my photography business, Jax Creations Photography. A couple of years ago, I started a family website called Wanderful Memories. I use this site to share ways other families can document moments in life through travel and lifestyle. A fun fact about me is that I love to cook/bake for others, and I throw a great dance party in the kitchen (when no one is around to watch my awesome dance moves, of course)! There are many parts of Silverwood that I enjoy, but if I had to narrow it down, it would be riding the Tilt-a-Whirl with my boys. I love to hear them belly laugh! My family enjoys visit Silverwood multiple times during the summer with season passes — it is the perfect way to split up the summer days by visiting the water park or getting their adrenaline going on a roller coaster.
