How to Become a “Silverwoodie”

The typical family trip to Silverwood involves frantically running around the park trying to maximize their roller coaster and waterslide rides. While this is GREAT fun, there is also an alternative outlook that offers a different experience. To capture this alternative outlook, the term “Silverwoodie” was coined by the regulars, and it refers to the enthusiastic and experienced fans of Silverwood Theme Park. Becoming a Silverwoodie involves immersing yourself in the unique culture and experiences of the park that can sometimes be overlooked. In this article, I will outline the steps to become a true Silverwoodie. After this, you may find yourself in the honorable Silverwoodie club. You will be ready to plan your next visit to check these off your list!

1. Embrace the Attire: Silverwood Swag

To truly become a Silverwoodie, one must embrace the park’s signature attire. Silverwood swag not only shows your love for the park but also your belonging to the Silverwood community. The theme park has unique gift shops spread throughout the park, each showcasing fun items. My kids love the famous squid hats and all the different stuffy characters. I am a sucker for ball caps and tie-dye shirts. There are so many options to choose from in displaying Silverwood pride!

2. Immerse Yourself in Entertainment Shows

Silverwood Theme Park has a diverse range of entertainment shows. From mysterious magic shows to train shows in the woods, embracing every entertainment show is a hallmark of the Silverwoodie lifestyle. You will come to prioritize the talent shows and want to see the performers again and again. If you are aiming to be the best Silverwoodie of them all, then you must see all the shows on the same day!

3. Indulge in Culinary Delights at Lindy’s Restaurant

One cannot be a Silverwoodie without a visit to Lindy’s Restaurant. Known for its delectable cuisine and cozy ambiance, Lindy’s offers a taste of nostalgia and a chance to savor a variety of high-end dishes. Make sure to order a cocktail with your dish or the Garlic Fries Platter–your taste buds will thank you!

4. Capture Memories at Photo Op Spots

Silverwood Theme Park has many picturesque spots, perfect for capturing lasting memories. Taking photos at these signature photo spots is absolutely necessary to be a Silverwoodie. There are no official Silverwoodie rules, but the unofficial rule is to have as much fun as possible while capturing the memories to relive at a later date!

5. Delight in Classic Park Treats

I will make it simple: Fudge, funnel cakes, and frappes. These treats are classic at Silverwood, and you have to try them all! The fudge is out of this world delectable, and you have to try every flavor (but maybe not all at once!). The funnel cakes are iconic and only $5 if purchased before 5 p.m.! Silverwood has unique funnel cake options that stand out from other theme parks we have visited. The Fruitfetti and the Huckleberry are our two favorites. The blended iced coffees are so refreshing, regardless of what time of day you are enjoying it. Most people do not know that Silverwood has its own coffee roastery! The fresh roasted coffee beans make all the difference in these blended creamy treats. In addition to these indulgences are other custom treats that you can take home with you. There is no shortage of sweet findings at Silverwood, and trying them all is an integral part of the Silverwoodie lifestyle.

Becoming a Silverwoodie is more than just being a park enthusiast. It’s about being immersed in the park’s distinctive culture and experiences. Through rocking the swag, knowing the shows, savoring the food at Lindy’s, making mementos at photo spots, and enjoying classic park treats, you will have arrived as a fellow Silverwoodie.

Meet The Conductor

Hello there! My name is Ashley. I married my prince charming 10 years ago and we have 4 kids that are 7, 5, 3 and 1 years old. We just recently moved from Bothell, WA to Dalton Gardens to fulfill our homesteading dreams. Every year we have made the 5 hour trip to visit Silverwood theme park but now we live 15 minutes away and plan to take full advantage. At Silverwood, you will find me floating the lazy River with a giant soft serve in hand.

My favorite tip is going to the theme park for a couple hours then head to the waterpark for the warmest part of the day, then head back to the theme park for the rest of the day!

Which rides should we head to first to avoid long line ups? For Boulder Beach? We’re only spending 2 days there so want to avoid long lines.

Haven’t been able to make it to Silverwood since my mom died. Each year since then I was hoping to make it but was unable to. Since my brother died in 2016, Silverwood has become my refuge. I hope to make it in 2025
